Tom Martinez

Inside the Brotherhood of Hate

School of Math and Science Auditorium

7 pm

Growing up poor, white, and angry in Philadelphia, Tom Martinez was drawn to the hate-filled world of Bob Mathews, founder of the most violent racist society in America, The Order. The charismatic Mathews led Martinez to counterfeiting, knowledge of bombings, robbery, murder, and, finally, horrified awareness. Martinez tells the riveting story of how he regained his conscience and manhood by going undercover for the FBI to bring The Order down. Foregoing the security of the Witness Protection Program, he now journeys across the country a marked man, risking his life to warn of the dangers of the neo-Nazi right. His extraordinary story packs the power of a first-rate thriller. But in America today, it is the bone-chilling truth.

Martinez discusses his actions within the racist organization, The Order. He talks about what it took to come to end his hatred of others, and how he worked to help bring the group to justice.  His story was made into a Showtime movie.
